Vision

The Integrated Services Renewal project is foundational to University Plan 2025. In particular, the project will contribute to the commitment of boundless collaboration and the goal of aligning structures to ensure that academic, administrative, and physical infrastructure enable collaborative opportunities for all students, faculty and staff.

Strategic goals

Grounded in the University Plan 2025 and emerging trends, the Program has the following strategic objectives:

  • Improve service and user experience for students, faculty and staff: Provide clarity around services so that end-users understand what services are offered, what service level should be expected, and how to navigate to that support.
  • Enhance collaboration and integration: Create transparency related to “who is doing what” so that the USask community can identify opportunities to collaborate and scale efforts. Define roles, responsibilities, and hand-offs clearly across all units on the back-end so front-end users have a seamless experience.
  • Optimize adaptability for the future: Affirm the University’s strategic direction and align institutional  priorities to ensure that the organizational structures, technologies, processes, data and reporting, etc. are flexible and sufficient to accommodate strategic priorities, as well as new operations, changes in technology, and University scale.
  • Reduce indirect and direct costs: Invest in projects (related to people, process and technology) that decrease indirect and direct costs in the near-term, bend the cost curve of future growth, and increase capacity. Additionally, divest where appropriate.

Guiding Principles

To achieve our objectives, the following guiding principles and approach will be taken:

  • End-user focused
  • USask-wide perspective
  • End to end simplification
  • Simplicity and efficiency
  • Quality data
  • Alignment with industry best practices
  • Adaptability
