Purpose

The Fee Review Committee (FRC), established in 2005, is to oversee the administrative process of reviewing and recommending for approval to the Budget Committee (BC) the following fees:

  • application fees
  • compulsory academic fees
  • supplemental fees
  • service fees
  • third party fees

The purpose is to establish the viability, and the continued use of these fees being assessed against students at the University of Saskatchewan.

Deadlines

All student fee requests and changes must be reviewed by the Fee Review Committee (FRC) and submitted for approval by the FRC to the Budget Committee. For the 2024-25 academic year, student fees will be considered under the following schedule:

We request that colleges and schools observe the following deadlines for existing student fee change requests.

Submission dates for 2024/25 Fees – changes or new

  • October 6, 2023 – for approval in October - November 2023
    • Review of excursion and other mandatory fees for implementation during the period May 1, 2024 to August 31, 2024.
  • October 31, 2023 – for approval in late November - early December 2023
    • Review of excursion and other mandatory fees for implementation during the period May 1, 2024 to August 31, 2024.
  • January 8, 2024 – for approval in late January - early February 2024
    • Review of institutional and other mandatory fees for implementation during the period September 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025.
    • Review of excursion and other mandatory fees for implementation during the period September 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025.
  • February 16, 2024 – for approval in February - mid-March 2024
    • Review of any other fees for implementation during the period September 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025.

Steps

  • Please print and fill out the 2024-25  fee change request form
  • Have the submission form signed by your dean or executive director
  • Please note that the budget spreadsheet is now included in the fee change request form, and both must be completed prior to submitting
