The units of the Office of the Vice President Research (OVPR) work collaboratively to support USask’s research, scholarly and artistic works (RSAW) enterprise, driving the innovation, creativity and discovery the world needs.
Innovation Mobilization and Partnerships (IMP) creates significant and sustainable value for society, industry and the environment, by helping researchers explore pathways to impact for their innovations, including patenting, licensing, and venture creation. They help researchers engage in strategic partnerships and support strong innovation ecosystem partnerships to pave the way to innovation impact.
The International Office (IO) provides administrative support for international relations, international partnerships and the effective co-ordination of USask international activities. The office also works with researchers to develop international research collaborations, identify international research opportunities and provides support for project development.
Research Acceleration and Strategic Initiatives (RASI) provides full spectrum support for collaborative research at USask. This includes proposal and research cluster development, compliance reviews and post-award administration, and related essential services to provide researchers with a competitive edge, engage undergraduate students in the institution’s discovery mission, and advance institutional programming and initiatives.
Research Ethics and Infrastructure (REI) supports high-quality research activities by helping researchers manage risk and meet relevant ethics and safety standards. They provide administrative support for the research enterprise which is extensive, highly specialized and diverse. REI works to ensure that faculty, staff, students, visitors and postdoctoral fellows embark upon and execute their research activities to the highest ethical and safety standards. The office makes sure the institution develops and executes policies that ensure compliance to regulations set by external agencies and stakeholders, and that it leads in demonstrating the best practices of research administration.
Research Profile and Impact (RPI) is telling the university’s research story to the world. Leading strategic research storytelling across USask—through print, video, web, social media, advertisements, speeches, op-eds and events—working with University Relations and a network of USask college and research centre communicators to share the findings and impact of USask research and build profile for the university. RPI is USask's official communications liaison with federal and provincial research agencies.
